Pros

The company provided a generous 401k contribution, retained smart people, and the leadership clearly communicated the direction of the company. the variety of projects allowed quick lineup changes to find good fits between employee skills and company needs.

Cons

the leadership was not always able to achieve their growth goals, and seemed to have little effect in making real direction changes.

Advice to Management

More communication between offices would be beneficial

I have been working at ARES

    Pros

ARES had a good 401(k) program and contributed to interesting aerospace and defence projects

    Cons

Employees were largely left to their own, embedded within contracts at other companies. Teaching and mentoring for younger staff was poor. 'peer review' was presumably ARES' main competitive strength, but lacking strong collaborative ties within the decentralized and rapidly changing corporation eroded dependability.

    Advice to Management

Improve internal communications. Managers communicated well with each other, and trickle down information but technical knowledge about people and their abilities was passed slowly.
