Interesting work but occasionally egos drive technical decisions.

Pros

Mostly interesting technical work and projects. Good facilities and nice people working at the company. Great company location if you live in Annapolis.

Cons

Political infighting and cliques sometimes interfere with technical decisions. If you run out of work then you are let go if you can't get something lined up quickly. Tenure and performance don't factor into the decision of cutting people. Creates atmosphere of uncertainty and lowers morale.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on supporting people doing the technical work and not on looking good to upper management. Work to keep best people on board, not just people who keep busy.

    Pros

Hangar is a state of the art facility. The comraderie of the lower level employees is outstanding. Oklahoma City is a great location.

    Cons

Extremely limited opportunities for promotion. Promotions are not based on merit, they are based strictly off of popularity. Mid Level management aren't interested in their employees' ideas. Communication is almost unheard of. Very disorganized. No continuity throughought company, certain employees are given the benefit of the doubt when policies or procedures are broken where as others are repremanded for it. No notice of overtime even when it is planned by managers days in advance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the employees that are doing the majority of the technical work, as they are the ones that make your business. As a company that is trying to grow within the aviation defense contract industry; you need to grow out of the "small time" way of thinking. Get control of/get rid of your managers that are completely incompetent or risk losing your government contracts that makes up the majority of your annual revenue.

There aren't many women in leadership even though their is an organized group for woman in leadership. They recognize it and are working on it. It is positive and negative.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need some diversity on your team.
