I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The work is great, as an AT&T south east prem tech. You get to meet new peaple everyday. the first thing most customers say when they open the Door is "am I glad to see you". Company fringes like health insurance and vacation time are above average, but not by much.

    Cons

YOU ARE NOT GARENTEED 40 HRS A WEEK! You don't know when you will get off at the end of the day. Mngmt keeps you in the dark near the end of the day as to how much work is left. Mngmt treats it as a game. you call in to see if you can go home because software that dispatches jobs to you tells you there is no work, so we call in to get approval to go in, and mngmt tells you to hold on he has another job hangs up, calls you back in 10 and tells you job was canceled. They give you 20 min in morning to load your truck but mngmt keeps you in a morning meeting for 15 min, then tell you to hurry up get off the lot. You are measured on proficiency, customer satisfaction, repeats, safety, and attendance, and on job sales on a monthly basis. There is no sick days allotted. Write ups and suspensions are given out frequently. And everyone in this company seems to care only about covering there backs and not the quality of service or the customers needs. Trying to be proficient and giving the customer quality service is a balancing act.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bottom Line......we are all on the same team. Techs should not have control over there time sheets. HR should have more involment in suspensions and write ups. Stop using technology to resolve employee and customer problems. you are using competition between employees to increase productivity and revenue, causing bitterness and friction. Stop the "It is what it is"
