As a contractor, it's a great place if you want stability and a reasonable amount of autonomy.

I have been working at AT&T as a contractor (more than 3 years)

Pros

There was a lack of micromanagement because your supervisors tended to be in different states than you.

Cons

Contractors always seem to be carrying the full-time people. Their skill-sets and contributions to projects always seem to fall short. Fulltimers consistently take credit for contractor work.
