Good wages and benefits (union represented position), lack of work/life balance, very rule oriented

Credit Representative (Current Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsFor the level of work, very good salary and benefits (union negotiated, occupational position). As long as you keep your nose clean there seems to be relatively good job security.

ConsAT&T markets itself to its customers as a cutting edge "outside the box" company but as an employer it seems to have a very old school mindset and rigid work environment. A little history if not known, this company is actually SBC Communications, they actually bought the old AT&T a few years ago and adopted their name. Every long-term employee I've spoken with said AT&T prior to the SBC acquisition was a way more flexible company and generous with its employees. Since the acquisition it seems to be a very different mindset. My first, second, and third level managers are all great and have absolutely no complaints against them, but despite this, the company culture at large seems to lack innovation and flexibility especially when it comes to its occupational employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove flexibility and work/life balance for occupational employees.
