    Pros

Working for one of the most respected companies in the world. Stable job in a poor economy. Extensive benefits including medical, tuition reimbursement, discounts at various retailers and companies, 401k, pension, etc. Above average salary, especially for those without a formal education.

    Cons

No respect for the work life balance whatsoever. The moment you sign on you are expected to be available 24/7. Days off, vacation, before scheduled shift or after, you are expected to be available. Salary sounds attractive when based on a 40 hour work week; reality is SCHEDULED 55+ and work usually takes you beyond that. Currently to have any chance at advancement you need to be a graduate of the Retail Leadership Development Program. If you are, you can expect to be promoted to Area Manager within 2 years of being with the company. If you are not you can expect to be with the company for 14 years and get passed up.

    Advice to Management

New blood is nice, but there is no substitute for experience. A happy employee is a productive employee. Adding to the work load, asking for more and more yet giving back less and less will not get you results.

    Pros

Team awards, 401k matching, educational benefits, opportunity to work for a leader in wireless and IPTV technologies.

    Cons

Job security Yearly salary increases Lack of leadership and direction Salaries Glass ceiling at area manager level

    Advice to Management

Go back to pre AT&T purchase leadership values. Reduce pro corporate propaganda. Get a more spirited leader to speak to the employees. Randall is a very smart and successful person, he just doesn't a presence like Ed did or Stankey has now. If you want a more hip corporate culture stop the talking and take action. Half of the company is stuck in 1970's mode the other half is trying to transform the culture by talking about it. Drop the massive hierarchy and flatten out.
