Pros

Generally stable company. It's a big name to have on your resume. Provides experience working with very large projects. Management opportunities appear to be abundant. Pay is generous.

Cons

IT work is frequently pushed offshore with little regard to quality, creating long-term maintenance difficulties. Immediate tactical cost savings are valued much more than long-term strategic planning. Career advancement is laughable - promotions/progressions are constantly put "on hold" indefinitely. Non-performers are coddled instead of cut. Forced ranking rating system punishes high performing teams.

Advice to Management

Throw away the red tape. Embrace Agile software development. Treat employees with respect, rewarding those who excel.

    Pros

Benefits are okay, pays better than most other retail jobs.

    Cons

Too many hands stirring the same pot without knowing what the other hand is doing... Comical "one AT&T" mantra with differences in policy from store to customer care.

    Advice to Management

Be personable and give a face to the upper management rather than sending demands down the pipeline.

    Pros

Pay, benefits free cell phone service and discount on TV service.

    Cons

If you live in Northern Indiana you will hate this job. The Director and Area Manager will micro manage you. On top of that if they don't like you will be labeled a "focus rep", which means they will try to get you to quit your job. They will try to accomplish this by making your work experience hell. Stay away if you what to be happy at a job, its all about nothing there. Diversity is a myth, five African American managers quit or got fired under this upper management group.

    Advice to Management

Upper management know what's going on, but they do nothing about it.
