I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

AT&T is a great company to start in sales, good foundational training to lean the basics of retail sales skills that will help you in any retail career.

Cons

Down side is working retail hours, a typical shift is 8:30-6:00 or a closing shift 11:00 - 8:30
These can be long days in a retail environment, not much down time so your day is very fast paced and you have to be quick on your feet

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mgt's job should be to remove obsticals so reps can be succsesful in their jobs

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent pay. Made more money per year as a regular sales associate than as a manager at Radioshack. The other salespeople I work with have been mostly very professional and friendly. I have made goods friends. Get your hands on some of the latest technology without having to wait for an upgrade. Good benefits.

    Cons

If you cannot sell, you will not succeed. It doesn't matter how good you are with technology and interpersonal skills if you cannot sell. Technology changes fast. New products get added to the line up every month. You will have quotas for every new product and old quotas hardly ever go away. Be prepared to attempt to sell every product we carry to every customer on every transaction.
