Current Employee - Account Manager I - Business Integrated Solutions

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

your peers are your saving grace, THEY are there to help you and want you to do well
Operations and RVP & above truly want you to do well with not just your sales but your career and encourage you to better your skills for advancement
The new product lines they roll out are easy to sell and learn, plus they are innovative
Being a "One stop shop" for communications that is LOCAL is a huge selling point
You get paid for sales that are done within the retail store and online as well as what you directly sell
When commissions are paid out properly, you are paid well
You have a direct person to go to for technical wireless and someone for applications that are there to help you with sales and support
Incentives offered in the channel have been GREAT which include additional iPoints (equivalent to actual $ on a visa reward card)

    Cons

No training on sales submission and how to do certain things in the internal systems
Missing commission payouts.... I'm talking about $1000s and it the same across the country in the Businesses Integrated Solutions segment
If a customer has a problem, expect to not be able to fix it but get yelled at by the customer and by your manager (who can't help you either)
The retail store reps expects you to give them sales but refuses to learn anything you try to teach them, follow procedures in place for customer resolution, and blame you for EVERY mistake made with business accounts.
In a specific region. In the south east, there are 3 managers over the sales staff that have been called out multiple times for ethic , DOL, and EEOC violations that have yet to be addressed by HR

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

if you want us to use a system, be able to do it yourself.
Learn what the world respect is and how
Learn the current laws and how to implement them in your work place set
forth by the Department of Labor and Equal Employment Oppertunity Commission.
Try to be proactive on explaining the commission reports and help us actually get paid instead of telling us to send someone and email and get mad at us when we have done that every month and have gotten no responseallow your employees to move within At&t instead of restricting them from transfer just because we have good sales and you need to meet your numbers

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO
