steady work, good benifits and pay

extreme disaray for the last 2 years of a difficult remake of att's deeling with a remerger into a nationwide company.

    Pros

    flexibale work schedules are common.. always need contractors to supplement employee work force.. when on contract, not encouraged to put in extra hours for free or for pay so work life balance is easy to manage

    Cons

    Process driven.. too much overhead and indecision.. there is no incentive for employees to work well together. Very advisarial environment.. impossible to get anything done

    Pros

    Get the training and experience, then leave for better company. Do not let money trap you.

    Cons

    Employees are treated like two year olds or prisoners or felons. Managers in CA are hell bent on forcing retirement on everyone eligible or else they will "write them up" and start the "process". I have witnessed what amounts to age discrimination on more than one occasion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    STOP THE INSANITY!!! You are pushing the core to the point of a total melt down. Is it a plan? Are you trying to force everyone out to bring in contractors at lower rates with no benefits? Contractors will not take ownership of the plant and facilities and the whole system will break down. STOP NOW!!! Apologize for your actions and treat your core with respect.
