Current Employee - Manager in Oakton, VA

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

Pros

-Fair compensation and benefits
-Job security as company is going to be around for a long time

Cons

-Withering corporate bureaucracy and administeria - on-boarding process is 37-pages of actions. Selectees are immediately non-compliant for over 15 hours of compliance training. Off-boarding just as intense. Expense reporting minutiae makes travel highly unattractive.
-Difficult to discover and sustain cross functional dependencies between corporate silos. Seems no knows service delivery lifecycle process end-to-end or owners. Almost seems like dealing with different companies as it really is conglomerate of lightly merged acquisitions.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Streamline bureaucracy.
-Make silos play better

    I have been working at AT&T full-time

    Pros

The work can be very challenging and interesting. There is a professional culture. There are lots of resources with many years of experience who are willing to help. The position seems stable since there are very few layoffs for this position.

    Cons

Internal job changes can be difficult. There is a very small chance of promotion. The senior management is extremely political and hierarchal. Annual raises are historically very small.
