Current Employee - Assistant Manager in Newark, NJ

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Good starting salary depends on your exp and education. OT is a BIG plus and if you have a good store manager it can help you grow big time.

Cons

Forget about having weekends off. If can be difficult balancing personal/work life.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management need to give some of these guys that have been Sales Reps for a while. These guys are hungry to prove others on what they can do as sales managers. Please stop hiring college students why no experience about the industry or sales.

I worked at AT&T full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Pay scale
    transferability
    3 weeks paid vacation
    company expense card

    Cons

    quota system
inferior product in a dying market

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

change the quota system to account for people in smaller markets having to sell more than people in bigger markets. i was in a VERY small market where the quota is based on the dollar amount you brought in and not how many contracts you get signed. Because my market is small the prices for advertising is on average 33% of the price of larger markets. that means that i had to sell 3x the products of someone in a larger market. i was only able to have 1 good month where i got 15 contracts signed which is 3 months worth of contracts anywhere except my market.
