Current Employee - Director in Bedminster, NJ

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Good Pay and Benefits
Great Co-Workers
(Historic) Flexibility in Work Arrangements
Industry Leader in Telecom
Strong Relationships with Large Enterprise Clients

Cons

All Career Roads Lead to Dallas (for Enterprise side of the house); employees expected to move to Dallas to keep the same job they have today, without consideration for using technology tools that AT&T sells, or performance of employees / considerations for their personal lives
Not Much Diversity at the Top
Command and Control Senior Leadership
Feel like a number instead of supported by my Leadership Team
Union issues impede growth and success of firm

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Truly empower your employees to perform - they want to do the right thing for the customers and the firm more quickly

Current Employee - Assistant Retail Manager in Minneapolis, MN

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great Pay
    Good Benefits as a Rep
Can move anywhere in the country with this job

    Cons

Poor Company Structure- I was told with my degree and aptitude I would be in a corp position within 2 years. 3 years later still stuck in retail.

My reps make more than me as a manager

Work Life balance is horrible even though they say its their #1 priority. For instance I am supposed to get one weekend off a month. I have never received that.

If you get stuck underneath a bad manager- good luck

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a better environment for movement in the company. I always wondered why no one applied to AT&T after college. Well now i know, its great money but no room to move into a CAREER!
