I have been working at AT&T

Pros

A job with Great Pay & Good benefits....but not all of the workers (management included) seem to have the best interest for the company in mind.

Cons

Can be very stressful at times.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to employees needs and try to meet the sensible demands of employees that could possible make things run a little more streamline in the office

    I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits, generally good people working at AT&T. Can make it a long career if you keep your head down, do the things that are expected and be a decent person. AT&T is pretty hard to get fired from. Some reps have been there for many years at the same job.

    Cons

    Constant direction change. Remarkably awful CRM tool. Quotas out of touch with reality. Limited earning potential with static account module. Not many opportunities for advancement. Most mid to upper management just move around laterally for years. Rarely do they move out of the business.

    Rethink static modules. Simplify systems and processes.

    Ma Bell is dead - the "new" company is dying slowly. When they say Global, they mean offshore employees.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    The salaries were good. Flexible hours.

    Cons

    They no longer care about the customers or the employees.

    They only care about the $$, at the current time. They seem obilivious to the fact knowledge lost every time they outsource or offshore the work, as well as the customer dissatisfaction. People no longer work as members of a team with a common goal, it is just "not my problem". There is no responsibility for the offshore workers. These workers frequently lie to cover ineptitude.

    Job security is non-existent. They force people to move across the country or risk losing their jobs. This make no sense considering the number of off-shore personnel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to what your customers want. Treat your employees like they really do matter. Stop moving American jobs overseas!
