Great stepping stone

Former Employee - Retail Sales Representative in Lafayette, LA
Former Employee - Retail Sales Representative in Lafayette, LA

I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

A great company to work for in order to hone your sales talent. You have to familiarize yourself with a variety of products and will learn how to pitch and market them to an extremely broad customer base. Decent pay and great benefits.

Cons

Management is very weak. People tend to be promoted for the tenure and not their talent. In the most recent years, employees have become merely a replaceable number.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I've seen some great talent leave through the doors because of the lack of recognition and compensation.

There is too much emphasis on metrics to the point that it interferes with performance of actual service provisioning duties.
