AT&T Mobility is managed like the "old telephone" company. Sadly no innovation, clunky billing and invoicing

Pros

Benefits and working from home

Cons

Management they keep laying off workers then re hiring for the same position. They balance the budget by laying off workers. They never let the Management Team go though just the workers.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lay yourself off, a change of management is what is needed to change the mind set to have new mobile solutions. Wireless is the way of the future.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Vision of the officers. New technologies.

    Cons

Lack of career growth. Constant fear of "Right sizing". Very outdated management style. The There is absolutely no oversight of management, so if you are unlucky and have terrible management, nobody above cares or takes action. In the past few months employees have been forced to leave due to harassment from management.
The most important thing is to get work done. Quality or effectiveness of the work is meaningless.
Constant restructuring changes your leadership team faster than they can work a project. Most of your work is rework or tossed in the can because you have someone new move in and they are pressured to make change for the sake of change.
No leadership by example. Don't dare bring up any issues or you are labeled a troublemaker. Somewhat hostile work environment. Lots of threats.
To many layers of upper management. You listen to the officers and their vision and by the time it is "interpreted" by all the levels down to you, you wonder if it is the same company. The company is set up to pit one employee against the other instead of working collaboratively towards the common good of all. Best practices are hidden from one another and everyone tries to make their peers look bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thin out the senior levels of management and keep the ones that believe in open, honest conversations. Change from a threatening workplace to one of team building, valuing employees and their input and get away from the everyone has to fight everyone else in the company for everything.
