Former Employee - Assistant Store Manager in Oklahoma City, OK
Former Employee - Assistant Store Manager in Oklahoma City, OK

I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Decent pay, benefits and employee discounts

Cons

The company from the top doesn't care about people at all. Some immediate managers do care and some don't. If they cared about the employees as people there wouldn't be as much turnover. They also discriminate when hiring.

    Pros

    Benefits were good, decent income

    Cons

Management was terrible..... never worked anywhere that a sales manager hadn't heard of 'feel, felt, found'

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on giving the public a price advantage over competitors, and fire home phone customer service reps that hang up on people wanting to cancel their home phones.

Former Employee - Customer Service Technician in Houston, TX

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Pay, overly generous with overtime

    Cons

No work comradeship, low morale as a crew, way too much emphasis placed on production rather than customer satisfaction. Safety and customer satisfaction are just buzz words.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Depends on the level of manager being addressed. From 4th level down it's robotic. "I don't make the rules, we just have to follow them". No matter how inconsistent or idiotic they may be. And any time a 3rd level manager comes in fresh, they like to re-invent the wheel in their
    image.
