    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Job Stability is pretty good but the quality of those who are left really suffers, Salaries are high, which tends to keep a lot of dead wood around

    Cons

Too many mandatory "to-do's" and very poor performance measurement. Salaries are too high for upper management and there are far too many Executive Director levels and above. The company is a case study in upper management bloat and top-down command-level management. Pretty archaic in this day and age.

    Advice to Management

Lengthen your time horizon and train employees. It's ludicrous to think that with changing technology the company cannot provide better training to employees. Additionally, measure people on what is important, not what is easy. The culture is stifling and there is no opportunity for real advancement. The good, younger, new employees will leave as soon as a better offer comes along. It is really sad to see how the company has taken a nose dive over (especially) the last 5 years. Putting legacy AT&T Business Marketing and Operations in charge was an incredible mistake; they took AT&T into the gutter before SBC bought them and will do the same with the former LECs that now make up AT&T.

  2. Extremely aggressive Sales Culture, Low Performing Products"

    I worked at AT&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits, opportunity to work for large company with interesting technology offerings and marketing services.

    Cons

Very aggressive sales management and cult-like training program. It felt like boot camp. Customers told me the company treated them so poorly they were "scarred for life". NO CRM, expectation to make 200 dials/day.

    Advice to Management

Treat customers and employees better if you want a long-term position in the market.
