Great at first, soul-eating after the first 6 months.

I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great training program; excellent trainers; excellent compensation for the amount of responsibility.

Cons

Store Management is often inexperienced; Company does not truly value its customers, and therefore its employees. New products are launched and are then employees are encouraged to sale those products regardless of whether clients need them or not. "Just sell it and see if it sticks," is a motto; it helps hit the monthly quotas for yourself and the store, but the client returns the product/service and you are charged back the commission you made. That is fair; what isn't fair is that the focus should have been on if the client needed the product/service or not first.
First 6 months are usually excellent. "New Hire Fire" is the term that is used; after the initial 6 months you realize that it isn't about helping others as much as selling what is vogue.

    Pros

Decent pay, relatively laid back considering the job itself should be more involved,

    Cons

Lack of vision, failure to listen to sound reasoning to fix issue even when solutions are staring them in the face, management only cares about themselves and thus don't actually want or challenge people to really grow or do well. For those who like to work in a thriving environment and care about the quality of work that you do you will not do well here. It's why I choose to make less money at smaller less dysfunctional companies where I can derive satisfaction from my job. This is also semi hard to get out of and into other areas of the company ( the NOC ). Badly implemented 12 hour schedules that needlessly inhibit life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop playing the corporate game, have a little bit of spine and actually encourage your staff to excel instead of the opposite.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, good perks (reward points, free stuff, free phone) 401k, pension

    Cons

Shitty hours retail, standing up all day, goals keep going up, Pay keeps going down. Pay is capped..company eliminated the FR position to save money..I wouldn't be surprised if this job is non commissions in a few years. Management forces new reps to push products down customers throats, bad CES but high sales is what they are all about. No one ever gets anything done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Quick cutting corners.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
