AT&T is a very solid company to work for, even better if you are mobile/willing to move for career growth.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

There is a certain cache in working for a world leader in the overall telecom field.]

    Cons

SBC management has come through many acquisitions like a hot knife through butter, destroying many careers, processes, and long-term civilities in the process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work enjoyment and productivity has been replaced by a meat-grinder, efficiency mentality. Believe it or not, PACBell, Ameritech, SNET, and BellSouth knew how to run phone-companies, profitably, too. SouthWestBell was the best game in the country, they just placed pacman really well.
