  1. AT&T is a very solid company to work for, even better if you are mobile/willing to move for career growth.

    Pros

There is a certain cache in working for a world leader in the overall telecom field.]

    Cons

SBC management has come through many acquisitions like a hot knife through butter, destroying many careers, processes, and long-term civilities in the process.

    Advice to Management

Work enjoyment and productivity has been replaced by a meat-grinder, efficiency mentality. Believe it or not, PACBell, Ameritech, SNET, and BellSouth knew how to run phone-companies, profitably, too. SouthWestBell was the best game in the country, they just placed pacman really well.

  2. Political, but pays well

    Pros

Benefits, Hourly, Training, Vacation, 401K. Lots of options to transfer geographically. The company offers many incentives throughout the year and is invested in educational advancements for employees.

    Cons

Very Political and hard to get promoted in the market. Sometimes to large of a scope without consideration for the front lines.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that you are involved in the day to day process to facilitate better transparency between shareholder interests and directives.
