    I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - AT&T is a large company and provides smart employees access to a tremendous amount of resources to do their work.
    - The company is actively acknowledging the challenges it will face in the next decade as a telco and is rapidly evolving. That evolution will cause some level of discomfort for many employees - but change is needed.
    - Employee discounts on TV + Wireless service amount to $1,000+ per year

    Cons

    - Talent is average at best. The 'middle' ranks are bloated with mediocre employees who slow progress down.
    - Compensation generally isn't tied to performance (outside of sales).
    - Absolutely no thought to office design. Outside of the main HQ building, offices are antiquated and offer no perks. It will be difficult for AT&T to transform without serious real estate and work environment improvements.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits, and pay if you met all of your sales goals. Weekly contests to win prizes and money.

    Cons

    If you missed your sales goal 3 months in a row you were let go. They cared more about profits then they did about customer satisfaction. If you were new you had to work on Saturdays and schedule your vacation a year in advance, and all of the summer times were taken by older employees.
