    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best part about the job is the money and commission.

    Cons

Micro Managed. Managers make you feel like your not important

    Advice to Management

Leave the sales team alone. Higher managers that have never worked in a retail store shouldn't be telling us to hit all 9 metrics, basically impossible

  2. Helpful (1)

Used to be a good company to work for.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It used to a very high morale, productive company with great collaboration, but not anymore.

    Cons

They are outsourcing basically all IT work, so unless you are a low paid contractor willing to work 80 hours a week they will eventually lay you off. Also, the IT grunts all live in fear of being fired. AT&T now has a very military pin the blame culture so they (the contract personnel) will lie to you about what happened and that makes it very difficult to solve problems. Bosses seemed more concerned about assigning blame than solving issues.

    Advice to Management

The upper management who make the decisions to get rid of competent long term experienced employees and replace them with high turnover, fresh employees from the other side of the world only see a few dollar signs that look good initially. They have no idea of the chaos and incompetence and value destroying way things are being accomplished (or not accomplished) now.
