Neutral Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at AT&T as a contractor (More than a year)

Pros

Relative simple job, most of it is repetitive work for the same customers. The company's computer applications are antiquated (MS DOS based)

Cons

Work environment is less than desirable company and does not have basic necessities to do work, office supplies are hard to come by.

Advice to Management

Hire your contractors as full-time workers. Many of them have proven themselves more worthy that your own employees.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great People (co-workers), exciting technology and projects to work on. if you get in the right dept, you will enjoy the work and job, you will get noticed.

    Cons

if you are in the wrong dept, your direct managers & Senior managers will try to keep you in place and not promote you or pay you the proper salary.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like the "old AT&T" days when you had employee appreciation days, gave out spot bonuses and holiday parties. Promote and give raises to the people that deserve it (more then 3.2 to 4.0%) instead of giving yourselves 12% to 20% raises, if you do this your employees will work harder, faster and longer for you. The Old AT&T was an awesome place to work and I was proud of saying I worked for the company.
