Great experience, but working in a customer facing environment burned me out.

I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

They have great career developmental resources and retirement benefits.

Cons

It's easy to feel stuck, especially if you work in the brick and mortar retail store. It can get politic-heavy in knowing the right people to help you further your career.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer sick days. The strict point policy had myself and many other employees crawling to work in heavy sickness in fear of accruing points and being placed in disciplinary action.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Awesome technology, rich company history, great benefits for employees. Stable as it gets; AT&T is not going anywhere.

    Cons

Attendance policy can be a bit on the unforgiving side. A company this large relies on policies being ironclad and inflexible to cut down on abuse; this means exceptions and special considerations are generally not available for almost any type of policy. It's a union environment, with all the bad and good things about that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Giving individual employees and small teams greater flexibility in determining policy or its applications might be helpful. A little redundancy in employees might lead to smaller workload, which might lead to higher-quality work and greater employee retention.
