Current Employee - Assistant Store Manager in Wilmington, DE
Current Employee - Assistant Store Manager in Wilmington, DE

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

compensation, incentives, paid vacations, training and opportunity to move up if you want.

Cons

no structure in leadership models, inpatient directors and vpgm's, sales reps have more power and are valued more then managers

Advice to ManagementAdvice

just be fair to managers and leaders in the store. Too often very good people lose there jobs based off targeting from other employees and that should be closely looked at.

If asked, AT&T is not a company I would recommend working for.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay is competitive and SOME of the benefits are good. The tuition reimbursement is an easy way to add to your annual compensation.

    Cons

I have conversations weekly about where I want to go within the company but when I express interest in those positions, I feel like I am not encouraged to go. My mid year and annual reviews are always great with positive remarks but I still get 1% pay raises. The coaching/development aspect of AT&T has seemed to fall by the waist side through the years of my employment. It's very hard to be motivated when there always seems to be a negative vibe surrounding the possibility of moving into a new role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't just talk about development. Roll up your sleeves and help to develop your teams. Take your mid year and end of year review conversations seriously and don't just "check the box". Even though the conversation is a requirement, don't look at it as a hassle and try to make it beneficial to your teams

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you have a busy store it's good money but a lot of micromanagement.

    Cons

Pay not as good as it use to be, bad management, and not enough room to move up in company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote the good managers and fire the bad managers
