Abercrombie & Fitch Store Manager in Pittsburgh, PA:   (Current Employee)

Pros

The company only promotes from within so you have the opportunity to work your way up, you get a solid discount, very competitive benefits, work with mostly cool, young professionals

Cons

promotions can sometimes take a long time, perception of employees is often very biased, you are constantly beaten down to recruit people and do other almost meaningless things without the resources you need, average pay for a high-stress job, you have to have a lot of passion for the company to justify a lot of the nonsense

Advice to Senior Management

People often quit because senior management is incompetent and bias towards certain people. This company has it all backwards, the higher you climb in the company, the worse they treat you and the more you get screamed at by your direct supervisor. Basically the more you move up the ladder, everything is your fault and the company never gives you the resources you need to make it possible to do the job that they demand.
