Abercrombie & Fitch Store Manager:   (Current Employee)

Pros

Managers move up in the company very fast. You are given the opportunity to run your own store at a very young age. There are international opportunities for store managers and upper management. The company has finally created a structured Manager in Training program for new managers. The company requires a 4 year college degree to work as management. The benefits package is good.

Cons

Recruiting "great looking" people is your number 1 priority. You are given a lot of responsibility and are not properly compensated for it. It is not as easy as they tell you to get into corporate after working in stores. The turnover rate is very high. The clothing is expensive and the discount is so so. Depending on what area you live in the theft rate is very high and customers are awful.

Advice to Senior Management

Be more open with store managers.
