I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Training and professional development is excellent. Most companies don't give their new hires the tools they need to be successful and I felt I did.

Cons

Customers hate the brand and take it out on you on a daily basis. High staff turnover.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back in touch with your customers. Is the store experience they are after a nightclub? Cater to the parents more. They are the ones who spend the money on clothes for their kids

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun environment for college age people seeking part-time employment. You will meet a lot of people with similar interests. Also, will receive a great discount on their clothes

    Cons

The pay is minimum wage and you will get minimal hours per week. Must abide by a very strict dress code which is basically only wearing their brand of clothes.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a job. Flexible hours are a plus, and the basic experience of working in retail is invaluable. A very laid back job.

    Cons

Minimum wage, low hours, no benefits, employees and sometimes managers fraternize, store clothing is strongly suggested to be worn, if not required.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide your best employees with opportunities to advance, even without a bachelors degree. Many capable adults under the age of 21 are suited to assistant or even store management much more so than some of the people I have seen with a bachelor's degree.
