For the salary and treatment of employees, it's an okay beginner job.

Pros

Even though the employee discount was low (about 20 or 30%), I gained some experience with customer service, handling the cash register, pricing merchandise, and inventory.

Cons

Very few hours, low salary, superficial people

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please treat employees better, compensate for the lack of decent salary for the work required from the employees

    Pros

Prolific opportunities for advancement within the company and amazing opportunities for global placements. Company culture is young, fun and relaxed.

    Cons

Everything bad that you've heard about A&F is true. Although senior management should be trying to rid the company of issues such as sexualization of young models, an emphasis on a narrow idea of beauty over actual performance and a lack of real diversity, they actually seem to be proud of them. Only if you can ignore the lack of any values or morality in this company will you be able to enjoy the pros of working there. Oh, and try to work here if you're not what they consider attractive...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Completely scrap the vision and direction of Mike Jeffries if you want you sales in the US to stop declining. Your current marketing style may still attract shoppers in some countries, but take it from someone in your key demographic, we find the whole atmosphere of the stores overwhelming (the music, the fragrance) and the whole culture unsettling. It's time for another overhaul, this time without Mr. Jeffries at the helm.
