I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Abercrombie and Fitch was flexible when working around employees schedules, calling in to work etc. It is a good place to meet people in a new city."

Cons

Abercrombie and Fitch is not an easy place to move ahead if you do not have desired "look". Although it is a flexible place to work for teenagers and young adults it is not a well paying job.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

People should be hired based on their work skills, intellect etc. Employees should be more welcoming to customers.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    40% off discount for management
Access to super marked down mdse in stockroom
    Usually pretty cool coworkers

    Cons

    Too many to name.
This place will suck every inch of life out of you.
The level of moral at this place disgust me.
The company goal is to hire pretty people, period.
The most ridiculous turnover rate in retail.
Sucky pay rate, and you are expected to recruit OUTSIDE OF WORK, on your own time, FOR FREE.
Managers get paid less than minimum wage/hr if they go over 40 hrs/wk, which you are almost always FORCED to do.
These are just a tip of the iceberg.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have no words. They don't give 2 ***** anyway. Try being more professional.

It was a fun environment, with fun people but definitely had some negative aspects.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    -flexible part time hours
-great first job or through college
    -discounts on clothing
    - fun people
    - long time friends
    - easy work

    Cons

    - intimidating if you're skinny but by no means a size 0/00.
    - REALLY loud music which you get used to but still can't be good for your hearing
    - really smelly
    - meticulous folding
    - super strict look policy (dress code)
    - can be boring depending on your location and if you're the greeter stuck up front for 5 hours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I loved all of the managers. It does take some time to feel like they like you, but if you prove you're reliable, they'll come around.
As for the district managers... Unless you're pursuing modeling (and are the A&F ideally sized model) its best to lay low with them. They can kill your self esteem in an instant, if they even acknowledge you to begin.
