Pros

People are the number one asset of the company. Great relationships developed at the workplace. Smart and engaging clients. Good opportunities for growth and work in different areas. Interesting and meaningful work that company does domestically and around the world. Good work-life balance overall but could vary highly, depending on the manager.

Cons

Most factors affecting your job satisfaction are driven by the management style and management capabilities by your direct supervisor. it could be the best or worst job in the world, depending on your supervisor. Not great pay.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some senior managers lack any management skills or education - they are great technical experts but not great managers. People working under those managers may suffer.

    Pros

Flexible work schedule depending on your manager.
Collegiate environment, lots of ivy leaguers, sometimes friendly. You can meet some great people there.
Great place to begin your career.
    CEO has good vision.
Good salary with regular bonuses so if this is all you care about you will do great here.
Good exposure to business development, everybody is involved.

    Cons

Senior Management can sometimes be unbelievably rude and intimidating therefore environment turns hostile very quickly.
Most senior managers are technical experts who do not know how to manage people or projects.
Promotion and progress appears to depend on who you work for.
Review system is expensive, time consuming, useless and has to be approved by your boss so if you have problems with this individual there is not much you can say as this person approves your review.
No clear path to share concerns, HR appears to be useless. Good luck if you have an issue.
    Some questionable, non-compliant, acts.
Management not open to new ideas so young people with good ideas leave as quickly as they came.
Lots of government money WASTED on useless projects managed by un-savvy technical leads.
Insufficient training on system tools provided to newbies who are then expected to complete tasks perfectly.
People with advanced degrees doing administrative work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create an environment that fosters collaboration and nurtures fresh talent. Be an inspiration to younger staff, solicit their opinions and views on how to accomplish tasks. Take a stronger stance against workplace bullying. Choose your managers with care, some of them are destroying client relationships, promising resources and the future of this company that Clark Abt worked so hard to build.
