District needs to go to San antonio and do their rounds like in houston, San Antonio is a joke. I shop at dick's now

    Pros

    Semi-flexible hours, slightly above minimum pay, clean environment, worked in the same store as my husband, polite managers, night shift usually didn't go much past closing time.

    Cons

    Horrible holiday hours, some managers would keep you well past closing time for no reason, some managers wouldn't work hard enough to listen to your concerns, hours cut with no explanation, team leaders didn't do any work, but expected much from associates, managers didn't know how to floor should be run, planograms didn't have enough space for all the product expected to be placed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management needs to have a hard and fast rule about how long they can keep employees after closing time. I was an art student, and being kept in the store 2 hours after closing time was not acceptable. Also, team leaders and managers figure out who good workers are and then work them to the bone. This encourages less than perfect performance from normally hard working employees, so as to avoid too many hours during the school year, and too many chores during work hours. An understanding of how long it takes to do certain tasks should prevent too many chores from being assigned. A good leader leads by exmaple, not force, guilt, or shame.
