Former Employee - Senior Project Manager  in  Rockville, MD
Former Employee - Senior Project Manager in Rockville, MD

I worked at Accelovance full-time for less than a year

Pros

Great for a person lacking professionalism, ethics or credentials and you can fly under the radar with their executive management teams inability to identify the issues from within the organization.

Cons

Low quality deliverables, no training offered, unprofessional, unknowledgeable staff and management. CEO hires or promotes friends and family regardless of credentials and/or experience. Dinosaur aged solutions and management tools for projects, outdated systems, policies and SOPs are extinct. They can not retain or recruit real talent.

I have been working at Accelovance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The biggest pro to Accelovance is the opportunity to provide input on processes and ideas. For those tired of a large CRO where you aren't allowed to think (and simply follow process), this may be a place for you. The company is growing, so there is also an opportunity to contribute, and distinguish yourself.

    Cons

Management does tend to micromanage at times, as the systems could be better at providing reports. Some office morale needs to be improved - as employees have been tainted by bad interactions of previous employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep thinking of employees first - and providing support to them. We're helping to grow this company. Would be helpful to invest in greater IT infrastructure. Finally, don't let some of these posts upset you - you're a well meaning group (and absolutely supportive of all employees) - don't let the haters get to you.

I worked at Accelovance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice coworkers, ability to work from home, you may have a good manager (depending on who you report to), due to understaffing issues you often have the opportunity to work cross functionally and gain experience in other areas

    Cons

Upper management has no concept of how much time it takes to complete a quality deliverable, they are more concerned with FTEs. Unrealistic promises are made to clients and project managers are left to handle the fall out with very little support from upper management who made the promises. Employees are given unmanageable work loads with no relief when asked. Unqualified employees are hired/promoted over other more qualified/harder working/longer tenured employees because they are friends/family with upper management or because they have learned to play the game to climb the ladder. Opportunities to attend outside training are rare. Pay is not up to industry standard and they hire on promises for pay increases and/or promotions that will not happen. An acquisition occurred and the acquired company came in and took over . Former Employees of the acquired company and new hires who are friends with upper management are allowed to work remotely yet long time Accelovance employees are not afforded the same options. The benefits are few and health insurance costs are very expensive compared to industry. Employee concerns are not heard and are treated with a "there's the door" attitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to and value your employees. You have lost a LOT of knowledgable, hard working, good employees over the last 2 years. Each employee has loudly voiced their concerns and issues before leaving and none of them were heard. In order to retain good people you have to make it an attractive place to work.
