I have been working at Accenture

    Pros

    The company is performing well
Telecommuting and working at home are encouraged
    Benefits are OK
I'd much rather be an Accenture shareholder than employee

    Cons

I'd much rather be an Accenture shareholder than employee
Extremely limited opportunities for advancement in enterprise
If you aren't client facing in the US your job will be moved to Argentina shortly
Due to this there is massive instability, employees are often assigned new supervisors constantly
Feedback on job performance is terrible or worthless depending on the manager

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There ought to be a logical stopping point to moving the entire enterprise workforce offshore. At some point Accenture's HR, Finance, and IT department will consist of three partners in the US and 50,000 roles in India or Argentina.

There are a lot of bright people working there, but they're often running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

    I worked at Accenture

    Pros

They have great benefits and decent salaries, and there are a lot of very nice and intelligent people working there.

    Cons

They don't necessarily support high quality work. They spend a lot of time sending one another emails and attachments and filling out complex Excel spreadsheets, rather than focusing on producing high-quality results. The higher ups don't seem to mind, as long as a modicum of work gets done and everything "looks" good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Send everyone back to school for grammar and style. Teach people to use the phone instead of email. Figure out a way to hold on to people who do high quality work, and get rid of those who shuffle spreadsheets around and do very little other than find ways to make themselves look good.
