Former Employee - Consultant  in  Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
Former Employee - Consultant in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

I worked at Accenture full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Great pay, great benefits, structured training framework, spends lavishly on community events and 'networking', different projects, good knowledge sharing culture,

Cons

Promotion based on 'visibility' to sr management rather than actual competence, incredibly pretentious culture, consultant jargon and speak, strong focus on sales rather than bringing value to the clients, competitive behaviour between colleagues is rewarded

Neutral Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at Accenture full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Fast learning curve and increasing responsibilities if you succeed and manage your own career (e.g. ensure you do get staffed on the right projects and proactively ask to take on bigger tasks)
    - Quite a number of capable colleagues
    - Unified approach, considering the size and geographical span of the company
    - Interesting pay and benefits as of manager level
    - Flat structure in most entities (note: this is Belgium specific, definitely not the case in all countries)

    Cons

    - Work/life balance
    - Still too much emphasis on politics rather than meritocracy
    - Running into a number of incapable people at any level in the organization
    - Too much bodyshopping, though this heavily depends on the "department" you're in
    - Insufficient pay and benefits as analyst and consultant

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fight harder to promote those who deliver and walk the talk, not the big mouths

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Accenture as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Able to change to other project team and work on a different project after your project team has competed its task.

    Cons

Like any technology consulting firms, the project period will be very busy.
