Current Employee - Level C Services in Washington, DC

I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Depending on the project. There's a lot of autonomy and flexibility. I work with top notch talent and learn something new daily. There are lots of projects and good opportunities for involvement in community programs.

Cons

The annual review process is crap! Long hours are sometimes required.

I worked at Accenture full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great place to start your career. If you don't know what you want to be when you grow up... working at Accenture gives you the time to explore different industries and hopefully different types of work. Coworkers are typically bright and hard working. It's an exciting environment to be in if you enjoy 'building' things and seeing them launched.

    Cons

With the economic realities and the crunch to do more, faster, and cheaper, the 'Work Hard' side of the equation has swelled to untenable levels in some parts of the business and the total rewards aren't really an adequate compensation. Also, requires dedication not to become pidgeon-holed into something that you may be good at, but dislike working on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should think more long term and allow people opportunities to progress and grow, rather than focusing on one strength and seeing how much profit can be made from milking that through different projects. The incessant removal of small benefits (like overtime pay for junior workers, and Amex Rewards Fee reimbursement...) takes a grinding morale toll on employees.

I worked at Accenture full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Really, it's about the people. At Accenture, you rarely find the management consultants that lead through fear and reek of arrogance. Most people are really nice.
Also, I found that the salary package is very nice. You won't get the highest salary in the industry, but considering benefits and goodies, it's really great.

    Cons

Like most consultancies, Accenture needs to be flexible in regards to what person takes what project. This leads to the situation where your role does not necessarily fit your profile very well. Many project roles are also like high-level temporary work that could be done by client employees, but they don't want to hire permanent people.
