    I worked at Accenture full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    The methodologies taught and used are excelent and will serve you throughout your career.
    Good CV value in IT.
    You learn as much as you want and can, internal knowledge base is excellent.

    Cons

    Performance evaluation does not reflect the reality as many people are up for promotions (over 36 months at level) and the reviews are grouped into bands in order for them to advance. Skilled performers will never get promoted at 24 months, so they leave.
    Personal skills, interests and career goals are disregarded. It has been turned into a body shop as people go to projects that need resources and rarely get a chance to work in the area they want.
    Progressions in Portugal are very slow (3 years for the very best, 5+ years for normal).
    Working longer hours is more expected than being productive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You really should look into re-establishing the up or out culture so your skilled workers don't leave.
    If working long hours is expected, then it should be translated into extra pay or higher base wages.
