I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-Strong IT and operational consulting brand
    -University recruiting has improved immensely
-Adequate and useful training. St. Charles is a great place.
-People are generally smart, supportive, and more easy-going than competitor firms
-Global opportunities across industries for a multitude/variety of clients
-Happy hours/fun events outside of the day-to-day client work
-Strong and aggressive leadership willing to take risks
-Company runs smoothly and has a solid finance and balance sheet

    Cons

    -Weak brand in strategy consulting
-Laddering process is sometime exaggerated/subjective, probably no different than competitors
-Tons of junk email every day/waste. Bloated marketing/HR organization.
    -Long hours
-Heavy on offshore mix/delivery (prepare for early mornings and late nights)
-Too much emphasis on PMO/internal tools and processes. Should be more client centric.
-Too much emphasis on management at the lower levels rather than building hard skills. This results in incompetent managers and unskilled analysts/consultants
-Tries to be the best at everything (Management Consulting, Tech Consulting, Outsourcing/BPO)
    -Growing too fast

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Slow down inorganic growth and hiring from the outside. Focus on clients and developing our people from within. Stay aggressive and take more risks (this is working).
