Former Employee - Training/Test Developer in Singapore (Singapore)

I worked at Accenture as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

- Team Oriented
- Fair remuneration
- Good knowledge portals for independent learning
- One of the few internships that allows you to experience client meetings

Cons

- Long hours (expect to work around 14 hours daily or more if necessary to complete task)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Could provide full-time opportunities for returning interns whom have performed well instead of having to go through the mainstream application or troubling project leads to assist in referrals.

The best place to start a career

Former Employee - Management Consulting Senior Consultant in Montreal, QC (Canada)
Former Employee - Management Consulting Senior Consultant in Montreal, QC (Canada)

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

You will learn more than you can imagine, enjoy great camraderie and diversity of experience. There is no better business school than being dropped into different companies and learning about the operational and organizational problems and being part of the team that resolves them.

    Cons

The travel is extensive. I spent 5 years living in a suitcase. It was exciting at first but it begins to take a toll on your personal life. Your career depends on how good a career counselor you have and you will work with some excellent people and some who have no business being in the industry. It's mostly positive. Work/life balance is simply non-existent. The culture is driven by deadlines and you can't move ahead unless you drink the cool aid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managing Directors (aka Partners, aka Senior Executives) are not always in tune with the needs of their reports. They are driven by budget and not hesitant to demand huge inconveniences and sacrifices from their direct reports. As a junior person you simply cannot refuse.
