Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Jakarta (Indonesia)

I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than a year)

Pros

1. Good Environment
2. High Workload will help you to learn
3. Many Communities to contribute your non-work related skills
4. Globally recognized
5. Good stepping stone for your advance career

Cons

These Cons are the ones I encountered in Accenture Indonesia : Jakarta Office, the place I am working:
1. The opportunity to be in consulting workforce only limited to graduates from public and overseas universities
2. The annual performance rating is subjective to how popular you are in front of the managers (not your performance)
3. The training for solution and service workforce are very limited compared to consulting workforce
4. Really focused on recruitment but not into keeping the current employees to stay
5. Low salaries and low opportunities especially in non-consulting workforce
6. The skill development only considered the availability of the projects not your choice
7. The managers usually sell low cost project that determines the budget hence no overtime bonus to the employees

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some advices that might be considered:
1. Change the HR Management
2. Give more opportunities to graduates from private universities into consulting workforce
3. Keep the development of the people into the mind not only to satisfy the project manager needs
4. Focused on individual choice in their career development

Former Employee - Senior Manager in London, England (UK)

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Accenture invest heavily in training and the skills of their staff.
They pay well - always in the 75th percentile - but they do expect their pound of flesh.
They employee great people so you are generally in good company.
There are few other employers that can provide so much experience in such a short period of time and keep on pushing you.
If you get the opportunity to work for them you should take it.

    Cons

There are only 2 small things worth mentioning:
    1) Work life balance - you have to work long hours and travel but in this kind of job it is a given and remember there are plenty of benefits. Those who do like it tend to get on very well. 2) Those who don't like it spend too much time complaining rather than moving on!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be much clearer with staff where the organisation is going and why. But from a performance point of view keep it up.
