I worked at Accenture

Pros

People are highly skilled. They expect a lot, but also provide a lot.

Cons

None, really. Travel during winter months was problematice, but Accenture does not yet have control over that.

I worked at Accenture full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Large company, lot of opportunities to advance your career.
A lot of emphasis on training and keeping your skills current and relevant to the market place. Opportunities to move and seek employment outside the US on a rotational Global Careers program.

    Cons

Accenture shifted its focus from high value management consulting to Outsourcing which was the largest platform for its growth engine. Given that IT as a service Vs IT as a Strategic enabler for business. Given its accelerated growth, it lost its charm and flexibility of a consulting firm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move back to Management Consulting and make that a focus

I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get a lot of exposure to a lot of different projects early on in your career. Some projects are more appealing than others, but you're able to realize what you do and don't like. If you worked at a small firm, you would likely be doing one project for several years, which eventually pigeon holes you.

    Cons

Salary is a bit low when considering experience and a graduate degree.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you work overtime, allow your employees to use there flex time in another pay period than the current one. If you're spending a lot of time in the office for deadlines, there's a great chance you'll never be able to get those hours back.
