I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Accenture has an amazing focus on people, great career growth opportunities, and uncomparable exposure for even the most junior resources.

    Cons

Accenture has grown so large that it has lost the small company feel. Additionally, you are always serving clients which makes it difficult to really improve/enhance our own company.

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Great people, and the aggressive up or out model ensures only top performers stick around (can also be a con)
    - Breadth of opportunity: Programs in international non-profit work through ADP, client work across industries and functions. It's not easy or straightforward but you can transfer groups if you find the right sponsors and impress them. I worked in Management & Technology consulting, worked in Supply Chain & Finance, and transferred offices globally.
    - Client access: You get to work directly with senior leaders at client companies with a level of access that would otherwise take years to earn.
    - Training: Internal training is valued and each person gets annual budget to keep skills up to snuff.

    Cons

    - Work/life balance: The system definitely rewards those who work longer hours, are more productive, and invest all they have into the company. Fun for awhile but causes burn-out.
    - Hiring & on-boarding: Some less than stellar people get through hiring and the on-boarding for experienced hires is not great. Fortunately the up or out process means no one flies under the radar for long.
    - Stagnant: It's still a huge company working for other big companies. Implementing "best practices" can sometimes hinder true innovation
