    Pros

Opportunity for travel with the perks that come with it. You may even have the opportunity to participate in offshore projects if there are roles available. The medical and dental benefits are fantastic especially for those with families. Accrued PTO comes in handy if you want to take the long vacation.

    Cons

Having been on both sides of the business internally (business operations) and externally (consulting/solutions) I've witnessed the good, bad, and ugly. Some projects you will have the time of your life and build lasting relationships. Other projects you may want to strangle everyone you work with. There is a constant need for you to be visible in the project, happy hours, extracurricular activities in addition to your job. If you enjoy playing the corporate chess and dealing with office politics then consulting is for you. As they say its your "network" that will help you land your next role....Don't trust your TFS (Talent Fulfillment Specialist) they have no interest in your career interests they just want to see you staffed and off the bench. That being said they don't help you whatsoever to land your next role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sr. Management and HR needs to put more emphasis on people on the bench or about to be on the bench. Make sure their TFS actually does work and find them roles and get them speaking to the proper hiring managers or staffed. If you're going to treat personnel as a number you may as well help them stay staffed.
