Pros

- Plenty of opportunities to work in different industries and with different technologies but you need to actively network and take control of your career path. - Great place to start your career and get some experience - in-house and on the job training and learning are provided. - The option to travel is great for those that like the mobile lifestyle and benefits that come from hotel, air, car, etc programs.

Cons

- No real career development available which resulted in a company that consists of talkers in management. No feeling of a connection to the company. - Heavy reliance on offshore teams which often resolve talent issues with quantity not quality talent. No work life balance for those onshore involved on those projects/engagements due to need to work standard US hours and take calls at night to manage the often problematic offshore teams. - Recent moves to compete with India based outsourcing companies will bring more offshore resources onshore under the guise of the Global Career Program to reduce cost (at expense of US employees). Again, not always quality talent, every decision is often cost based to meet financials (and stakeholder expectations) - sacrificing quality service, product, or work/life balance. - HR does not work for the employee and programs are hollow

Advice to Management

Differentiate from the other outsourcing companies or spin it off as it dilutes the Accenture brand. Offshoring is simply not able to provide the quality at the scale needed. And granting offshore more control (by sending them onshore to manage engagements) will only further exacerbate the problem as the focus is delivering the numbers on paper, not quality and true value to the client (smart delivery - not just getting it done through brute force, i.e. hundreds of developers that just copy and paste old inefficient code).

    Pros

Learn how to build advanced technology systems with the best. Some of the best people I've ever worked with. Great flexibility. It's up to you where you go. Great perks, miles, hotel points, 401K, travel. Great events.

    Cons

Promotion process, and occasionally tough hours.

    Advice to Management

Fix the promotion process. Career Counselors impact so much in their counselee's careers and they have no incentive to help you.

    Pros

A very well established company. Great benefits, good 401k match, and an excellent employee development program.

    Cons

Some downsides are that work/life balance can range from not very good to awful; starting pay for an undergrad is OK, but not great (though it gets better, quickly, as you are promoted); it is very competitive, meaning that just doing a good job is not always enough to advance your career.
