I have been working at Accenture

Pros

People. I have been able to meet some of the most fun and interesting people. The network opportunity here endless and you will meet and work with people from all over the world with a wide range of personalities and skills. They say you don't really get to experience consulting until you get an out of town project. That's when all the perks come in with the hotels, flights, per diems.

Cons

Projects in the Canadian market are somewhat limited. There's Oil&Gas in Calgary and some random projects in Toronto and very limited elsewhere. Some projects are black holes and very difficult to get out of despite the lack of any career growth on the project.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees. They are smart and very capable and aren't afraid to leave the company if they are not happy.

I have been working at Accenture

    Pros

You get to work with smart and practical people, fortunately most Accenture people are not too arrogant. The flexibility of changing projects allow you to build up experience across diversified areas and giving you exposure to work with client's senior management.

    Cons

If you get drawn into one of the mega huge projects in Accenture, it is difficult to move onto another project and your skillset becomes very niche.
It is still tough to obtain a work life balance here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In an attempt to grow and satisfy shareholder's appetite, the firm has expanded too quickly and focus too heavily on technology related projects.

    I worked at Accenture

    Pros

One of the better IT work places in India. Has a good work culture and environment which is a huge positive.

    Cons

Towards the end of my term in Accenture with increased work hours, relatively bad pay policy and high attrition led to a lot of stress in the work environment. Also the new offices in Mumbai are at remote suburban locations and commuting to-from is a huge pain. The process of getting into a project especially for an employee with 2+ years of experience is excruciating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain the informal work culture and maintain at least being at par with the similar tier-1 companies. Senior employees should be interviewed and be allowed to chose their project unless business needs are urgent, politics in this is really frustrating.
