Pros

Open PTO and flexible schedule.

Cons

Low pay for long hours. Start with super low salary saying if you work hard, you'll get exponential raises and promotions. Only top 10% actually do.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're taking advantage of your employees. Only the top 10% benefit from your salary structure. This idea would work even if you paid employees closer to industry standard.

    Pros

Accruent is well on its way to becoming the dominant force in its sector. It's CEO and founder, Mark Friedman, is executing a bold vision. Having taken this company from his living room to being the go to choice for real estate management software for retailers, higher education, and wireless. Working for Accruent has a way of including you in that vision and along the way you'll work with some truly bright minds who bring good energy to the workplace.

    Cons

Accruent is executing a long term acquisition strategy, acquiring competitors to improve their market position and increase the customer value of their offerings. This introduces change often a couple of times each year that is both exciting and demanding. You'll need to be agile and ready to adapt to those changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Much of your directives are coming from Vista. They bring some great programs, but you need to know when to recognize the value to be found in your front line. Take hold of the insights gained there. Foster it. Allow it to influence your execution.

    Pros

Accruent likes to hire people it identifies as HPLE, "High Potential, Low Experience". It's not easy to get a job here but once you do there are lots of opportunities for advancement. It's a great place to get experience, whether you're changing careers or looking for your first job. Seems like many non-entry level jobs are filled by promotion from within when possible. The company is growing like crazy which means lots of new positions opening up and numerous opportunities for promotion.

    Cons

I can't really think of anything major to complain about. Like many small-ish companies, benefits are not as rich as some larger companies but they are quite good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Watch out for increasing turn over. When HPLEs get a couple of years of experience they will be in a position to shop around for significantly higher paying jobs. A 50% raise is very realistic and very tempting for many people.
