Pros

I worked at one of the local stores so all of the people I worked with were great and I knew everybody. My manager also allowed me to do an internship while there as a managment trainee which helped me land another job during school more in line with my major.

Cons

Because it was a store owned by a local family is was a fairly small operation and advancement rarely came along. There seems to be a distant connection between corporate and the family owned Ace's which would make it difficult for anyone who wanted to jump the gap.

Advice to Senior Management

Make it more visible to employees, such as store clerks, how they can advance through the store. It is difficult to be motivated if you know you are at the top of your career.
