Ace Hardware – “Ace is Not The Place To Work and Get Ahead”
Pros
They will hire you if you are breathing and don't have a life outside of work.
Cons
You are given no respect by the owner Gary Meyer. You are hired in at minimum wage with the promise of quarterly performance reviews, which never occur. If by some strok of luck you do manaqge to get a raise because of your knowledge you are put on a list to be terminated for a cheaper employee. They do not have hot running water in any of the employee or public restrooms. You are expected to load steer manure without the ability to sanitize your hands after loading. Your work schedule is changed weekly to assure you cannot plan anytime off for personal duties. The only difference between this place and slave labor is that they are forced to pay minimum wage. You are also REQUIRED to take a voluntary questionaire over the telephone to corporate to evaluate the company and management. It is suppose to be anonymous but you have to give your age, sex and time with the company so they can trace who made any bad comments. You can then be terminated for not agreeing with the GARY MEYER WAY OF TREATING PEOPLE.
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up and treat people as an asset to your business. You may be the boss, but without your sales people who help sell your product every day you would be nothing. Would you like to be treated the way you treat people?
