I worked at Acosta part-time (less than a year)

Pros

It gives you the ability to work at your own pace without having a supervisor present to add pressure.
The hands on learning of the job, and building relationships with management is great practice for other jobs or everyday life.

Cons

Supervisor training was indirect and confusing at times. Sometimes I did more than I should and sometimes I did less than I should, but lack of communication was the reason.

I have been working at Acosta part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    work at my own pace

    Cons

No raises in 5 years but people come in at higher rates. When I address this with my boss, and his boss. Its because of the economy which would be believeable if Acosta wasn't buying up other merchandising companies. So you have money to buy other companies but employees can't get raises.

Hiring alot of new people when we are laid off in a couple months in November at least in my divison working night shift at Meiers.

If I could give no stars I would. Trust me when I get something better am burning this bridge when I leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
